Vasquez Rocks

Vasquez Rocks is located in Agua Dulce, California halfway between Santa Clarita and Lancaster. These rocks got their name by a bandit, Vasquez, who hid out in the caves and caverns located here. You can see these spectacular rocks from the 14 freeway but it is much nicer to check them out in person. There are a lot of trails and a picnic area in this 745 acre park. You may have seen these rocks on TV or on the big screen because many movies and TV shows have been filmed here. Some of them include: Star Trek, Flinstones the movie, the first Austin Powers, and many Westerns.

Universal City Walk

A group of us got our 4th of July weekend started by heading to Universal City Walk in Hollywood, CA for dinner. It was the first time I have visited Universal City Walk and I thought it was very nice. We went to Buca Di Beppo and got some wonderful Italian food for supper. There is a lot to see and do at Universal City Walk. There are many stores for shopping as well as different games along the walk. One in our group won two stuffed fish and a stuffed frog all at one game. Pretty good. We have some friends that live in walking distance so I am looking forward to going back and checking out more on the walk. If you would like to learn more about Universal City Walk and the stores and restaurants there click HERE. I hope everyone has a nice 4th of July weekend.
